As a German manufacturer and one of the world’s leading providers of innovative adhesive tapes, monta looks back on more than 50 years of experience in the adhesive tape industry whose origins go back to 1855. With our 140 employees, we produce adhesive tapes based on natural rubber at our production site in Immenstadt, in southern Germany.

QUALITY & SERVICE
Our innovative production facilities and strict internal quality requirements repeatedly set new standards in the adhesive tape market. We are supported in this by our certified quality management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001, which is consistently implemented and continuously refined in all areas of the company.
Good product quality also requires high-quality raw materials, which is why we agree on precise specifications with our suppliers. In our in-house laboratory, we conscientiously and continuously test everything from the raw material to the end product, through all stages of production. Internationally developed test procedures and specially developed practical tests serve as a benchmark.
As a service, we test customer-specific applications in our laboratory, such as the security of an individual carton seal.
For technically demanding applications, we provide on-site support in an advisory capacity.
In addition, we also support our customers with practical recommendations for product applications and give advice on how to handle and store our adhesive tapes.
HISTORY
monta Klebebandwerk GmbH is a well-established, medium-sized company situated in Germany's charming subalpine area called Allgäu. Its origins date back to the year 1855. Today monta is one of the leading manufacturers of natural rubber adhesive packaging tapes worldwide.

Foundation of the "Mechanische Bindfadenfabrik Immenstadt" (Mechanical Tape Factory Immenstadt).

CORPORATE MERGER
Merger with "Mechanische Hanfspinnerei und Seilerei" (Mechanical Hemp Spinning Mill and Rope Factory). New company name became "Hanfwerke Füssen-Immenstadt AG" (Hemp Factory Füssen-Immenstadt AG).

FIRST COATING LINE
Commissioning of the first coating line as a cornerstone for the production of adhesive packaging tapes.

GENERAL MODERNIZATION OF THE PLANT
Modernization and expension after a blaze in February.

CORPORATE TAKEOVER
Takeover by a German-Swiss group and continuation under the name "monta Klebebandwerk GmbH".

TAKEOVER BY 3M
Takeover by 3M Deutschland GmbH.

3M SELLS SHARES
Takeover of all shares of monta Klebebandwerk GmbH by CEO Gerhard Spilger and the former technical director Johann Amoser.

JOHANN AMOSER TAKES OVER SHARES
Takeover of all shares of Gerhard Spilger by Johann Amoser and continuation of monta Klebebandwerk GmbH as sole managing shareholder.

STARTUP OF A STATE-OF-THE-ART COATING LINE
Startup of one of the most innovative coating lines for natural rubber adhesive worldwide.

FOUNDING OF SUBSIDARIES
Founding of fix-pack Srl. in Romania in 2011. Takeover of shares of fix-pack Kft. Hungary in 2012.
2014
SALE OF THE COMPANY´S SHARE TO A GERMAN INVESTOR GROUP
Johann Amoser sells all shares of the group of companies monta/fix-pack to a German investor group.
2015
FIRE IN THE SLITTING DEPARTMENT
In April a major fire destroyed the building and the production facility of the slitting department.
2016
START-UP OF THE NEW SLITTING DEPARTMENT
Start-up of the new slitting department one year after the major fire.
2018
CHANGE OF MANAGEMENT AT MONTA
As of December 2018, Roy Gibson takes over the management responsibility for the monta group.
2021
NEW CEO FOR MONTA GROUP
End of February 2021, Daniel Lückfeldt takes over from Roy Gibson as CEO.
2022
NEW INVESTOR GROUP
In November 2022 a German investor group becomes the majority owner of monta. The monta executive management also invests in the company.
2024
NEW MANAGING DIRECTORS
In May 2024 Lars Böhrnsen and Steffen Lauber take over as Managing Directors for monta from Daniel Lückfeldt.
2025
FOUNDING OF SUBSIDIARY IN THE USA
In January 2025, the subsidiary monta adhesive tapes Inc. is established in the USA.
2026
CHANGE IN MANAGEMENT
As of July 2026, Lars Böhrnsen takes over as sole Managing Director of monta Klebebandwerk GmbH.
