Unwinding an adhesive tape causes a distinctive sound, which may be unpleasant to sensitive ears. An easy solution are monta’s BOPP LowNoise tapes with natural rubber adhesive.
To benefit the most from their low noise properties, you should avoid cold temperatures as they make the adhesive more brittle and the tape louder. The best storage and application temperature is between 18°C and 25°C.
Another factor affecting the noise level is its overall thickness: The thinner it is, the more it vibrates, increasing the sound volume.
The unwinding force also is important: A steady hand with a managed pull lowers the noise, whereas inconsistent, forceful unrolling increases it. Thus, the use of a hand dispenser can be helpful. If your hand dispenser is equipped with a break, use it at a setting to avoid very sudden or fast unwinding.
